I am an assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), teaching in University College and in the English Department.

At VCU, I currently teach Writing and Rhetoric II for University College and creative writing for the English department. I have previously taught Writing and Rhetoric I and Writing in the Workplace for the English Department, Harry Potter and Beyond for the Honors College, and journalism, developmental writing, and oral communications.

I also teach PI candidates how to use the Internet as an investigative tool, and about still and video photography, and have taught workshops on interviewing, deception detection, and advanced photography.

For the last three years, I have been teaching 8-week classes for senior citizens on family history and memoir writing through The Shepherd's Center of Richmond.

I would like to recommend What the Best College Teachers Do, by Ken Bain. Great book for anyone who teaches!
